In one of Brother Kenneth Hagin’s books relating to the Name of Jesus, he referred to a comment by Brother Kenyan: He mentioned how some of us have experienced the authority vested in that Name of Jesus, … but so far, none of us have been able to take a permanent place in our privileges and abide where we may enjoy the fullness of this mighty power.
Brother Hagin went on to make a statement that so deeply touched my heart and stirred a fresh surge of hunger and faith inside of me, for what I truly believe the church of Jesus Christ is about to step into! Something I believe we will begin to experience at the Faith Dome over this month of June!
He said that he had a very real conviction that before the Lord Jesus returns, there will be a mighty army of believers who will learn the secret of living in the Name, of reigning in life, and living the victorious transcendent resurrection life of the Son of God among men.
The early church lived in a way that the Name of Jesus was with them in absolutely everything they did! And it always produced supernatural results in their own lives and the lives of those around them.
Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
There are tremendous truths about the Name of Jesus we are to meditate on, believe with all our hearts, and confess – continually. The more we do, the more we begin to see that Name bring the presence of God in His mighty power into every single situation we confess His Name over.
Here are a few of these marvelous truths:
- The Name of Jesus is higher and greater than all other names (Ephesians 1:21).
- The Name of Jesus carries authority in Heaven, at the throne of God, in earth, and under the earth (Philippians 2:9-10).
- We have been given His Name and authorised to use it (Ephesians 2:Mark 16:17-18).
- The manifest Presence of our victorious Jesus is in His Name, and He promises that our prayers are heard and answered when we pray in that Name (Matthew 18:19-20; John 14:13-14; John 16:23).
We all remember the story in Acts 3, where Peter spoke to the lame man at the gate of the temple. Peter told the man he didn’t have money to give to him, but what he did have – that he would give! And he certainly did! He commanded the man to rise up and walk in the Name of Jesus!
Acts 3:6, “Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.’”
Those outside of the church feared that Name! After Peter and John we arrested for working in the Name of Jesus, they were warned to never use that Name again!
Acts 4:17-18, “‘But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.’ So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.”
They saw the power and what happened when the church used the Name of Jesus, and it terrified them. Once believers begin to have a revelation of the power of that Name, they become unstoppable in destroying the works of the devil and releasing the atmosphere of heaven here on earth!
When we understand the magnitude of the Name of Jesus, and are continually conscious of the power and presence and authority that is found in it, and begin to continuously use it in everything we do and pray (Colossians 3:17) – it will bring supernatural results as it releases the power of heaven onto the earth! Just look at what the Name of Jesus did for the disciples:
Acts 4:13, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marvelled. And they realised that they had been with Jesus.”
We believe that this will be said of us too, as we receive a fresh, deep revelation of the power of the Name of Jesus. As you prepare your heart to give into the the work of the Lord Jesus, we encourage you to open your heart to hear exactly what the Lord would have you invest into this network that has availed itself to lift high, and carry the very presence of Jesus and His Name, over all the nations of the earth – until He comes again! Know that He promises to abundantly bless every seed given and produce a mighty harvest in return for the giver who sows into His kingdom interests! Hallelujah!
