Praise the Lord for His faithfulness! Together with our precious team, Jenny and I want to encourage you in the Word today!
While waiting on the Lord concerning writing you this month, this scripture came to mind: 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (AMPC), “And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfil His call by hallowing and keeping you].”
The Bible tells us we are living in a world that is under the curse of sin. It is dominated by an evil mindset that is in direct rebellion towards God. Isaiah 60 speaks of the darkness that is presently covering the earth, and the deep darkness the people. Before we were born again, we belonged to this way of life and were in bondage to its ways. Ephesians 2:2 says, “… in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,”.
Praise God for Jesus! Through the finished work of the cross we were given a way to be redeemed from that evil curse and have been transferred from its kingdom of darkness into God’s own kingdom of light! We have been given a brand-new way of life! God’s own Spirit – the Holy Spirit – has taken possession of our spirits, making them one with Him! (1 Corinthians 6:17-20; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
Now, we know this is not news to you. Some of you have walked many years in newness of life – in Christ Jesus. However, according to the Word – this truth is something we must never allow to slip into the back of our minds. Now more than ever – it must become the reality through which we view ourselves every moment of every day. This is because the prophetic Word of the great deception; and many believers falling away from their faith, as their love for God turns cold – is happening at an alarming rate, all over the world.
Nobody, from the pulpit to the pews, is immune from the temptation to be deceived. Which is why more than ever – we want to urge you to pay attention to your spiritual well-being. Constantly acknowledge and be aware of the truth of who you are in Christ Jesus. Keep reminding yourself that your inner-man or spirit, has been completely changed and redeemed! Why? So that 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 becomes your reality! The extent to which we consciously welcome the Holy Spirit to do His transforming work in us, is the extent to which our spirit and soul and body is preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
We are expected to have the change that happened in our re-born spirit-man, translate into our souls (mind, will, emotions) too. In other words, since our spirits are just like God’s Spirit, our souls must take on His likeness too. How does that happen? According to 1 Peter 1:22, our souls become purified through obedience to the truth of God’s Word. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].”.
Renewing our minds to God’s Word through the help of the Holy Spirit is the only way we are able to have them redeemed to perceive and think as God does, and not the way of a fallen, cursed world. Determine to spend time reading and meditating on God’s Word, trusting the Holy Spirit to cause its truth to influence every thought process, to cleanse every emotion, and bend your will to delight in God’s ways.

As we continue to saturate ourselves with, and meditate on the truth of God’s Word, the same pure faith, wisdom, and power that exists in the spirit-man will translate to the soul, through the power of the Holy Spirit. One evidence that this is taking place will be a sincere love for others, loving them with a pure heart. 1 Peter 1:22 (NKJ), “Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart.”
